I make participatory work that turns audiences into collaborators. Using light, sound, video, and real-time systems, I build environments where presence has consequences and interaction becomes a shared story.

Practice Statement

My practice explores agency. I am interested in what happens when an environment notices you, responds to you, and invites you to make choices that change the experience. I build interactive installations and performance systems that blend light, sound, video, interactivity, and narrative to create moments that feel alive.

I treat technology as a creative medium, not just a tool. The system is part of the story. I want the mechanics to be legible without losing wonder, like a magic trick that stays magical even when you understand how it works. My background in live performance shaped how I build for timing, clarity, and impact, and my experience in immersive production keeps the work grounded in what can actually be installed, maintained, and experienced by real people.

I know the work is successful when someone engages, lights up, and immediately pulls someone else in.

Themes

  • Audience agency and shared authorship
  • Systems as choreography, timing, and feedback
  • Attention, choice, and the small decisions that change a story
  • Participation as a social bridge between strangers
  • The visible mechanism and the lasting sense of wonder
  • Narrative environments and responsive atmosphere

Materials and Methods

I work with light, sound, moving image, sensors, and real-time software to create responsive environments. My projects often combine custom interaction design with show control and generative media, so the experience can adapt to people and place rather than play the same way every time.

Approach

1. Concept and intention
I define the core question of the work and the role of the audience. I write a short premise, map the emotional arc, and identify the simplest interaction that can carry the idea.

2. Prototypes and tests
I build quick studies to validate the interaction, timing, and readability. I test in real conditions whenever possible, including lighting, sound, and crowd behavior, because small changes in context can reshape the experience.

3. System design and production
I translate the concept into a complete interaction system, including content pipelines, show control, hardware integration, and operational details. I focus on clarity, resilience, and maintainability so the work can live beyond a single demo.

4. Installation and iteration
I tune the experience on-site. I watch how people actually move, hesitate, and collaborate, then adjust pacing, thresholds, and feedback to make the interaction legible and rewarding. I document the final setup so the work can be supported over time.

Across all of it, I aim for a balance between transparency and wonder. I like when the mechanism is visible, but the experience still feels like magic.

Selected Works

Selected Works is a curated set of projects that represent my artistic practice across installations, performances, and interactive systems. Each work includes documentation, a short description, and production notes when relevant.

Exhibitions and Presentations

I present work through installations, live performance, and public-facing experiences. If you are programming an exhibition, festival, residency, or commission, I can share full documentation packets, technical requirements, and installation options.
